Celebrating 35 years of investing for a world of change

Cape Town, March 2026

This year, Ninety One marks two significant milestones: our 35th anniversary and our return to 36 Hans Strijdom Avenue, where our story first began.

We were honoured to welcome the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, to officially open our newly redeveloped Cape Town headquarters, a moment that reflects both our heritage and our continued commitment to the country.

Following 22 months of renovation, the building is now one of the greenest office spaces in the city. It incorporates rooftop photovoltaic generation to reduce reliance on grid power, along with low- and zero-VOC interior finishes that minimise indoor pollutants, creating a more sustainable environment for our people and our community.

More than a refurbishment, this investment signals our long-term confidence in Cape Town and in South Africa.

As President Ramaphosa noted, it is “a tangible demonstration of confidence in our country.”

We are proud of where we have come from, and energised by what lies ahead.

To mark our 35-year anniversary, we brought together clients, partners and friends to reflect on a shared journey.

Hosted at our Cape Town offices, where Ninety One was founded and has now returned, the evening was both a homecoming and a moment of reflection.

We were honoured to be joined by leaders from across government and business, including Minister of Finance Enoch Godongwana, Minister in the Presidency Maropene Ramokgopa, Deputy Minister of Finance David Masondo, Mayor of Cape Town Geordin Hill-Lewis, and SARS Commissioner Edward Kieswetter, highlighting the importance of long-term partnerships in building South Africa’s future.

More than a celebration, it was a reaffirmation of our purpose: to invest for a world of change, alongside those we serve.
