Werner is Co-Head of Emerging Market Fixed Income at Ninety One. He is co-portfolio manager for the Emerging Market Local Currency and Hard Currency strategies and contributes to regional analytical research for Latin America.
Werner moved to London from Cape Town where he was a fixed income quantitative analyst and managed Ninety One’s asset and liability matching book.
Prior to Ninety One, Werner played professional rugby in concurrence with academic programmes. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Insurance Science from the University of Pretoria, a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree in Financial Economics from the University of Stellenbosch, and a Master of Science degree in Applied Statistics from Oxford University. In addition, Werner obtained the Society of Technical Analysts diploma and was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation from the CFA® Institute in 2006 and is a CFA® Charterholder.
