Shamier is a client director in Ninety One’s South African institutional team. His responsibilities include servicing some of the large asset consultants in South Africa and their associated clients as well as assisting on a number of institutional relationships.

Prior to joining Ninety One, Shamier was an analyst and portfolio manager at Element Investment Managers. He managed domestic equity, global equity and multi-asset portfolios. He was also a member of the executive committee and managed several institutional client relationships. He was actively involved in the integration of ESG within the investment process. Before joining Element Investment Managers, he was an analyst and portfolio manager at Sanlam Investment Management.

Shamier holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Cape Town. He is a chartered accountant (South Africa) and CFA® charterholder.
