Ninety One has today announced the appointment of Katherine Tweedie and Dana Hildebrandt as Co-Heads of the North America Institutional Client Group. Tweedie and Hildebrandt will continue to report to Sangeeth Sewnath, who was named Managing Director, Head of Americas, in September. In close partnership with Sewnath, Tweedie and Hildebrandt will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and commercial success of the Institutional business in the region. Both Tweedie and Hildebrandt will continue to be based in Toronto and New York, respectively.

In addition to her role as Country Head of Canada, Tweedie will take on an expanded position overseeing strategic partnerships with large institutional investors in the US, including spearheading the expansion of Ninety One’s West Coast business. Tweedie joined Ninety One in 2012, where she founded the firm's Investment Institute. In 2018, she started Ninety One Canada, which has successfully grown into a multi-billion-dollar business, providing customized investment solutions to a diverse range of sophisticated institutional clients. Prior to joining Ninety One, Tweedie served as Head of Africa at the World Economic Forum and held various roles in investment banking and private equity at BMO Capital Markets, CIBC World Markets, and HSG (now Stonehage Fleming). Tweedie is actively involved in several industry leadership and philanthropic initiatives including the Investor Leadership Network (ILN) and Aspen Institute’s Finance Leaders program. Tweedie holds a Master’s Degree from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.

Hildebrandt will continue in her role as Head of Consultant Relations for North America, where she has driven meaningful progress in the focus within the consultant channel, while also leading strategic initiatives within the broader distribution team. Hildebrandt joined Ninety One in 2023 from State Street Global Advisors where she was Head of Consultant Relations. Previously, Hildebrandt was Director of Investments at Willis Towers Watson, she worked on the plan sponsor side as the Trust Investment Manager at PSEG, and began her career in audit at Deloitte. An advocate for financial literacy and education, particular for women, Hildebrandt works closely with Rock the Street, Wall Street and 100 Women in Finance. Hildebrandt has a Master of Business Administration from Rutgers Business School.

Sangeeth Sewnath, Managing Director, Head of Americas, Ninety One: “Katherine and Dana have played an integral role in the buildout of Ninety One’s institutional business in North America. The complementary expertise they bring to these new roles will help create a deeper understanding of how we can work with institutional investors to solve their investment challenges and innovate solutions that lead to better, long-term outcomes. As a firm, we will look to continue to expand our reach across North America through our differentiated investment solutions, particularly in emerging markets, quality equities and climate finance.”
