Sam is an analyst in the Sustainable Equity team within Multi-Asset at Ninety One. He joined the team in 2018 and his primary responsibility is the coverage of environmental sectors. In addition to his focus on decarbonisation, he has been instrumental in the development of the team’s analysis of externalities.
Prior to joining the firm, Sam was part of the investment team at Arbuthnot Latham, with primary responsibility for the Natural Resources sector. He began his career as a Geologist, gaining experience in both iron ore exploration and mine development, whilst working for Roy Hill and Hancock Prospecting in Australia.
He graduated from Durham University with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Geology in 2011. Sam is a CFA® Charterholder and holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC). Sam has earned a Master’s Degree in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge, in which he specialised in the topic of biodiversity, subsequently publishing his work in the leading academic journal Business Strategy and the Environment.
