About

Charlie Donovan is Visiting Professor of Sustainable Finance at the University of Washington in Seattle. He was previously Executive Director of the Centre for Climate Finance and Investment at Imperial College Business School and Academic Director of the MSc Climate Change, Management and Finance.  He was named Professor of Practice at Imperial College London in 2020.

In the private sector, Charlie has been a clean tech company co-founder and CFO. Before joining Imperial, he was Head of Structuring and Valuation for Global Power at BP plc. He began his career as an Energy Policy Analyst with the US Environmental Protection Agency during the Clinton Administration.

Professor Donovan holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Washington, graduated from the MBA program at Vanderbilt University, and completed his Doctorate in Management at IE Business School.
