About
Sbongakonke Khumalo is an intellectual property lawyer within the Ninety One legal team. She joined Ninety One in 2019 pursuant to Ninety One’s rebrand and demerger from the Investec Group and manages the Ninety One intellectual property portfolio in over thirty countries. She provides assistance to the business’s global marketing team and ensures that the Ninety One brand is robustly protected.
During her time at Ninety One, she has shown a keen interest to venture into other legal areas within the business and to expand her expertise beyond intellectual property law. This has led to her venturing into the retail investment space, by providing legal support in relation to Ninety One Investment Platform’s savings and retirement products.
Sbongakonke holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. She is a fellow of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law and a registered trade mark practitioner.
